With the early scratchings of Penthouse, Typhoon Taavi and Outweighed there will be a full field of 16 plus 2 emergencies for the 2024 Magic Millions Bright Shadow with 3 fillies and 15 mares. Three runners had their last start in the Listed Ascot Handicap over 1000m at Eagle Farm on 20th April (won by The Big Goodbye), three in a BM 85 Handicap over 1000m at Eagle Farm on 27th April (won by Shalaa’s Moment), two in the Listed Hawkesbury Rush over 1100m at Hawkesbury on 4th May (won by Parisal) and two in the Listed Mick Dittman Plate over 1000m at Eagle Farm on 27th April (won by Tiger Shark), while the rest came via different races. Third favourite is Xtravagant Star who wasn’t fully tested when 5th in the Hawkesbury Rush. Party For Two was a close 3rd in the Mick Dittman when fresh. Bubble Rock is a United States mare having her first Australian run. Tiger Shark won the Mick Dittman, while Blue Spinel was 3rd behind Shalaa’s Moment. The other runners are currently $20 or longer.

Resumes from a 16 week spell. Not the worst.

5. Chinny Boom (1)

Has 2 wins and 3 places from 5 runs this campaign. She has great soft form and is great at this distance. Expect her to be in the finish.

6. Jaja Chaboogie (17)

Ex-Tasmanian runner having her first start for Toby Edmonds. Has got heavy track form. Could surprise.

7. Tiger Shark (11)

Won the Listed Mick Dittman Plate over 1000m at Eagle Farm on 27th April. One of the chances.

8. You’ll Be Mist (15)

On a 7 day back-up but doesn’t show her best at this track. Looking to others.

9. Aureus Angel (8)

First up after 25 weeks. Prefer to see.

Ran 3rd in the Ascot Handicap. In the mix.
