Ozzmosis is having a great prep and can continue on its winning ways in this. King’s Gambit was eye catching on resuming and gets Tommy Berry in the saddle. Celestial Legend has the right form for this and should enjoy the rise in trip while Royal Tribute can land on the speed and give a bold sight in this but does look a place chance at best. The tempo should be solid.

Five runners had their last start in the Listed Heritage Stakes over 1100m At Rosehill on 23rd September and two in the Listed Poseidon Stakes over 1100m at Flemington on 16th September.

1. King’s Gambit (7)

Has to iron out a few bad habits but should prove very hard to beat if it can learn to settle better. Maps for a lovely tow into the race and should be in the finish.

2. Barber (1)

Sound first up but barrier 1 could be messy for Barber with its racing pattern. Goes in the mix if finding its best form.

3. Ozzmosis (6)

Has been ticking all the boxes and faces its stiffest test to date but has done everything right so far and deserves to be favourite. Versatile runner that has good tactical speed and a bright future. Goes on top.

4. Namesake (8)

Had its chance last run behind the favourite and hard to see it turning the tables. Place hope.

5. Celestial Legend (4)

Sound return behind the favourite and doesn’t need to improve much off that to be taking this out. The map looks good and has a stack of upside and improvement to come. Big danger to the on top selection.

6. Royal Tribute (2)

Can land on the speed from the good draw and give some cheek. Query on it winning against some of these but can round out the placings.

7. Mexico (3)

Can’t have.

8. Balkans (2)

2 good wins and the form has been okay since with the runner up being nabbed on the line since. Maps well and is a sneaky hope with the young gun Lloyd in the saddle.
