A capacity field of 17 plus 2 emergencies have accepted for the 2024 Sky Racing Queensland Guineas with 3 colts, 15 geldings and one filly. Seven runners had their last start in the Listed Daybreak Lover over 1400m at Eagle Farm on 20th April (won by Exotique Miss), four in the Listed South Pacific Classic over 1400m at Randwick on 13th April (won by Panic) and two in the Group 3 AJC Carbine Club Stakes over 1600m at Randwick on 6th April (won by Ducasse), while the rest came via different races. Three runners are trained by Chris Waller and two by Tony Gollan.

The early betting is wide open where the early favourite is Ducasse who won the Carbine Club on a heavy track at his latest start. Second favourite is Transatlantic who was a close runner-up in the Daybreak Lover. Third favourite is Press Link who was 3rd in that race. Kintyre was a last-start winner in the Group 3 Frank Packer Plate. Robrick finished 2.3 lengths 8th in the South Pacific, while Port Lockroy ran 6th in the same race. The other runners are currently $11 or longer.

2. Ducasse (16)

Won the Group 3 AJC Carbine Club Stakes over 1600m at Randwick on 6th April. One of the key chances.

3. Robrick (11)

Finished 2.3 lengths 8th in the Listed South Pacific Classic over 1400m at Randwick on 13th April (won by Panic) Prefer others.

4. Encoder (12)

Finished 11th in the Listed Daybreak Lover over 1400m at Eagle Farm on 20th April (won by Exotique Miss). Appears tested.

5. Cafe Millenium (17)

Has disappointed at his past 2 runs. Unlikely.

6. Razors (13)

Close runner-up in the Listed South Pacific Classic over 1400m at Randwick on 13th April (won by Panic), and has placed at all 3 runs this campaign. In the mix.

7. In Evidence (7)

Ran on for a narrow win over 1400m here on 27th April. Rates well and can make his presence felt.

8. Port Lockroy (19)

Finished 6th in the South Pacific after being runner-up in the Canberra Guineas. Drawn the outside barrier which won’t help.

9. Transatlantic (14)

Was a close runner-up in the Daybreak Lover. Looks well-placed here and is a winning chance.

10. Kirikan (6)

Prefer others.

11. Press Link (8)

Ran 3rd in the Daybreak Lover despite jumping awkwardly, being steadied, over-racing and being eased. With a better run she can be in the finish.

12. Felix The Scat (10)

Looking elsewhere.

13. Captain Fenkel (9)

Has 2 wins and a place from 5 starts. Not the worst.

14. Caracas (4)

Interesting gelding with a win and two 2nds from his 3 starts. Capable of surprising.

15. Purveyor (15)

Only beat one home in the Daybreak Lover. Blinkers go on. Looks tested.

16. Easy Dun (18)

A big winner of a Bendigo maiden on debut then was runner-up in the Morphettville Guineas at his next start before finishing midfield in the Daybreak Lover. Not the worst.

17. Chica Mojito (1)

Ran on well over 1400m at her first start for Chris Waller. Perfectly drawn and is a place chance.

18e. Misterkipchoge (5)

Prefer others.

19e. Hiyaam Proud (2)

Good winner of a Geelong maiden at this only start. Not keen.
