Came over from New Zealand after winning two races in a row on heavy tracks (including a Group 1) then running 4th in their Group 1 Livamol Classic over 2040m at Hastings. She chased steadily for 2.8 lengths 6th in the Crystal Mile over 1600m at Moonee Valley on 28th October. Is brilliant on heavy tracks so connections will be hoping for the heavens to open.
2. Amokura (12)
Won the Group 1 Queensland Oaks back in June, so can stay the distance. Resumed after 19 weeks to run 3.9 lengths 10th in the Group 3 Angst Stakes over 1600m at Randwick on 14th October. Should improve second-up and is one of the chances.
3. Affaire A Suivre (2)
One of 2 runners for Ciaron Maher & David Eustace (the other is Steinem). Ran 8th in the Group 3 Coongy Cup over 2000m at Caulfield on 18th October. This looks too hard.
4. Steinem (6)
Chased steadily out wide for 4th in the Coongy Cup. One of the chances.
5. Thalassophile (13)
Finished 2nd in the Group 3 Tesio Stakes over 1600m at Moonee Valley on 28th October. Hasn’t won for a while but is usually not too far away.
6. Deny Knowledge (10)
On a 7 day back-up after she finished 4th in the Group 1 Empire Rose Stakes over 1600m last Saturday. Serious player.
7. Papillon Club (5)
Ran 2.5 lengths 4th in the Group 3 Ladies Day Vase over 1600m at Caulfield on 14th October.
