Magic Night Stakes – 2023

Steel City was hard to miss in the Blue Diamond being bottled up for a run. Drawn to find trouble again here but it will be very hard to hold out with clean air. Blanc De Blanc goes in the mix after having no luck last start when caught wide in the Sweet Embrace Stakes. The query is the run in transit after being drawn wide again. Decent gap to the rest with Remedies and Tiz Invincible among other chances. The speed looks solid and Steel City may elect to take up a prominent role.

1. Blanc De Blanc (13)

No luck in the Sweet Embrace Stakes after being caught wide. Drawn for no favours here but if J-Mac can produce a peach from barrier 13 it does bring the right form to this race and will be very hard to hold out.

2. Fire Lane (10)

Just an even effort last start but the runs prior see it right in contention here. Things will need to go right from barrier 10 but this race isn’t out of reach. Keep safe.

3. Remedies (3)

Excellent last start behind Cafe Millenium however that form wasn’t franked last week. Prepared to risk at the price.

4. Empress Of Wonder (16)

Had its chance last run and gets no favours here. Deserves a win but doesn’t find an easy race to break through.

5. Madeira Sunrise (12)

Just an average run last start but the win prior was very promising. Given no favours here with the tricky draw but this is a suitable race and it can run well against this lot.

6. Steel City (1)

Found all kinds of bother in the Blue Diamond. Has to be prominent from the daw otherwise it may find trouble again in this. If Steel City does take up a forward role and gets clean air this time around it will be very hard to beat.

7. Tu Qui Santuzza (5)

Kicked well to win on debut after coming off some good trials. Short enough with that form line being suspect however it is extremely hard to knock the way the stable are going.

8. Shine Your Light (2)

Can’t have.

9. August Bloom (14)

Hit the line well behind the smart Lazzago in the Sweet Embrace Stakes. That form should hold up here and maps to go back nearer to last, get clean air and let rip. Place chance.

10. Bianco Nero (6)

Prefer others.

11. Pretty Rho (8)

This looks too tough.

12. Lady Jezam (15)

Can’t have.

13. Untouchable Legend (9)

No luck on debut but drawn wide and this race is no easier. Prefer others.

14. Hellbent On You (4)

Trials just fair. Prefer in something easier.

15. Kimmela (7)

Can’t have.

16. Tiz Invincible (11)

Half sister to Anamoe who trialled nicely and can run a bold race in this. Never easy to win from a wide draw on debut but the stable must have confidence in her if she is running.
