Eurythmic Stakes – 2022

There is a field of 14 runners for the $150,000 Eurythmic Stakes with 13 geldings and one mare ranging from five to seven years old. Seven runnera are first-up from a spell. Three had there last start in the Group 3 Strickland Stakes over 2000m at Belmont on 25 June, two in the Black Heart Bart Stakes over 1200m at Belmont on 24 September, two in the Listed Farnley Stakes over 1400m at Belmont on 10 September and two in a Rating 72+ Handicap over 1300m at Kalgoorlie on 1 October. The rest came via different races. Trainer Chris & Michael Gangemi have two runners.

The early favourite is God Has Chosen who has 8 wins and 5 places from 13 starts and resumes here after a 16 week break.  Second favourite is Comfort Me who is also resuming and has trialled well. Third favourite is Resortman who won the Listed Idyllic Prince Stakes and the Listed Farnley Stakes at his last 2 starts.

Cup Night ran 2nd in the Black Heart Bart and has won 6 races at this track. Massimo placed in this race in 2020 and 2021. Titan Blinders was a close 2nd in the Listed Hannans Handicap at Kalgoorlie last start. Excellent Dream has placed at all 3 runs this campaign, while Last Of The Line has 7 wins from 14 races and resumes here. All other runners are currently 20 to 1 or longer.

Finished 2nd in this race in 2021 and 3rd in 2020. Resumes after 18 weeks and can’t be dismissed.

2. Marocchino (4)

Resumes after 16 weeks. Goes better over further.

3. Cup Night (10)

Ran 2nd in the Black Heart Bart last outing and has won 6 races at this track. A good place chance.

4. True Attraction (1)

Finished last of 10 when resuming. Gets winkers on for the first time. Unlikely.

5. Resortman (2)

Won the Listed Idyllic Prince Stakes and the Listed Farnley Stakes at his last 2 starts. Would love to see him win a Group race.

6. God Has Chosen (8)

Has 8 wins and 5 places from 13 starts and resumes here after a 16 week break. Goes really well at this track. One of the main chances.

7. Platoon (9)

Was disappointing last campaign. Looking to others.

8. Titan Blinders (5)

Finished a close 2nd in the Listed Hannans Handicap at Kalgoorlie last start. One of the chances.

9. Last Of The Line (7)

Has 7 wins from 14 races and resumes here. Could place.

10. Jericho Missile (11)

Hasn’t won beyond 1200m. Looks safely held.

11. Comfort Me (6)

Resuming and has trialled well.  Not the worst.

12. Notorious One (14)

Drawn the outside barrier. Rough place chance.

13. Excellent Dream (12)

Has placed at all 3 runs this campaign. Could surprise.

14. Pure Devotion (3)

The only mare in the race. Resumes after 41 week and having her first start for trainer Adam Durrant. Prefer to see.
