Reginald Allen Quality 2022 Preview
Track: Soft – Heavy Weather: Sunny
Fifteen runners have accepted for the Listed $160,000 Reginald Allen Quality and there have been no early scratchings.
We have four trainers that have multiple entries this year with Chris Waller, Kris Lees, John O’Shea, and the Gerald Ryan/Sterling Alexiou stable all having two runners each.
Orzala has opened the $4.60 favourite despite drawing barrier nine following her half-length victory at Newcastle over the 1400m. The daughter of Norzita will have James McDonald partner her in her toughest test to date.
Parisal ($7.00) is on the second line of betting following her one-length defeat in a Canterbury maiden behind Shohei and she has a favourable draw to get a nice run in this event.
We currently have ten horses from this race that have won a race with three of them winning last start in A Lot More Love ($9.00) and Lonrioli ($9.00) along with the above favourite.
Reginald Allen Quality Runner by Runner
1. Wingardium (8)
Struggled a touch two back in similar grade before running well last time out in much weaker grade. Hard to back with confidence.
2. Wild Botanica (2)
Won nicely at Kembla Grange before running a good race in a benchmark 72 behind Arbitration. 1400m looks like it suits and she is drawn well.
3. Lady Harlem (11)
Had a couple of excuses first up but it’s hard to follow her with any confidence.
4. Amati (6)
Two starts this preparation for two distant finishes, finishing two lengths back in fourth first up followed by a four-length seventh last start. Just hasn’t come back the same.
5. A Lot More Love (1)
Yet to finish outside of the top two so far this preparation. Her latest was a nice half-length win at Newcastle over the 1400m after getting a nice run throughout as favourite. Gets the blinkers the first time.
6. Lonrioli (15)
Broke her maiden status last start at Goulburn, winning by almost four lengths after leading the entire way over 1300m. Drawn awkwardly here but she will head forward from the wide gate.
7. Razeta (10)
Gets the blinkers on first time following her 3.1-length defeat in a Hawkesbury benchmark 64. Her best has her in calculations.
8. Thinking Rain (14)
She gets the blinkers for the first time here. Following her three-length win last preparation, she was unlucky in her return this time in, finishing 1.8 lengths off the winner in fourth after being slow out and held up in the straight. She has drawn horribly here.
9. Orzala (9)
Won a maiden at Newcastle by half a length. She gets James McDonald and is drawn okay in barrier nine, but she will need to be a lot better here.
10. Parisal (5)
Finished second on debut at Canterbury over the 1200m after travelling at a fast pace. She has drawn much better here but it’s a big leap.
11. Yankee Hussel (1)
Good winner two back at Hawkesbury before not doing a lot when fourth at Canterbury over the 1550m. Back in distance suits but it looks a tough ask.
12. Call Di (4)
She hit the line well first up despite being 4.8 lengths off the winner when finishing seventh. 1400m will suit her better but still hard to have.
13. Fun Sunday (7)
Three placings this preparation in much weaker grades and she has failed to make an impact when facing tougher opposition.
14. Ningaloo Star (10)
Nice placing in a Class 1 last start at Goulburn but this looks too hard.
15. Vienna Princess (13)
Had excuses when finishing 2.8 lengths back in fifth and will need to be better here.
