Track: Heavy Weather: Fine

A very difficult race to sort. The best version of A Very Fine Red would be extremely hard to beat in this field. Needs to lift this prep but certainly gets its chance here. Najmaty became trustworthy last prep and looks well placed while Juan Diva is 1/1 on the track and goes well fresh. Mileva is unbeaten over this track and trip and gets Daniel Moor in the saddle while Shalstar returned in good fashion, kicking and beating a field easier than this. It has the upside to be winning the race.

1. Mileva (6)

Reliable galloper that will be up on the speed and giving a sight. She won this race last year. 2/2 over this track and trip and the heavy ground holds no fears. Mileva has missed the placings once from six goes over the trip and ticks plenty of boxes in this. On top at the $8.00 mark and hard to beat from the nice draw.

2. Fituese (3) – SCRATCHED

3. Juan Diva (14)

1/2 on this track and Collett rides. He is very good with backmarkers and can get Juan Diva a tow into the race at the right time. Its a horse that is tricky to catch so I prefer others but still hard to beat with even luck in running.

4. Najmaty (13)

Proved reliable last prep with 2 wins and a second. Unknown on the heavy which has to be a query so the market should be a good guide there. Very hard to beat if the track dries out so a weather watch is advised for its chances.

5. Galgani (16)

Wouldn’t shock me here ftrssh. Has won 3 from 6 first up, this is within reach and its way over the odds.

6. Rose Quartz (11)

Racing well. Its running pattern requires luck but Dee knows the horse well. Will need the gaps to present at the right time but does have the turn of foot to win this race.

7. Melba Storm (4)

Good win last start. Loves this trip having never missed the quinella, maps nicely and Jye Mcneil sticks. Big chance in this race and the $11.00 is over the odds.

8. Winning Verse (1) – SCRATCHED

9. Shalstar (7)

Superb return kicking and winning in what looked a handy race in Sydney. Harder here but would have built off the first up effort and has the ability to take this out.

10. Kalkarni Royale (10)

Mixing form and yet to find the placings on this track from 4 goes. Prefer others.

11. A Very Fine Red (2)

The best version of A Very Fine Red beats this bunch. Has form around Zapateo and brings in some strong NSW lines. A Very Fine Red was only 1 length behind Mazu earlier this year in the wet. That kind of run will see it winning this race well. Respect any market push.

12. Authentic Jewel (12) – SCRATCHED

13.Tycoon Humma (9)

Watch the market. Mixes form but capable galloper when on song.

14. Neverstandingstill (15)

Keeps winning and digs deep to win races. Has well and truly ticked off the heavy box which some of these haven’t. Yendall will need to be good from barrier 15 but this race is within reach.

15. Lempicka (8)

Won well when resuming. Newitt sticks in the saddle and it stays at the trip. No placings from 3 goes on the track is the query. Respect any market moves.

16. Niccolite (5)

Not hopeless. Mixing form at the moment but likes this trip and has run well on the track in the past. Barrier 5 will ensure a good run. $71.00 is large and can sneak into the top 4.

17. Libiamo (17)

Prefer others.
