Following the early scratching of Stanley Express, 11 runners remain for the 2024 PFD Food Services Chairman’s Stakes with 3 colts, 2 geldings and 6 fillies. Two of the runners had their last start in the Group 3 Thoroughbred Breeders Stakes over 1200m at Flemington on 30th March (won by Tobeornottobe) and two in the Listed Without Fear Stakes over 1050m at Morphettville on 13th April (won by Pure Aqua), while the rest came via different races. Two runners are having their first race start. Richard & Chantelle Jolly have 3 runners and Andrew Gluyas has two.

The early favourite is Growing Empire who was a close runner-up on debut, then was a 2 length winner of the Listed St Albans Stakes over 1200m at Moonee Valley on 23rd March. Second favourite is Karavas who has 2 wins and a 2nd from her 3 starts. Third favourite is Khadime who won his only start by 2.5 lengths at Sandown Lakeside. Pure Aqua won the Without Fear Stakes. All other runners are currently $12 or longer.
