SAJC Chairman’s Stakes – 2024

Following the early scatching of Navy King, 12 runners remain for the 2024 PFD Food Services Chairman’s Stakes with 10 geldings and 2 fillies. Four of the runners had their last start in the Listed Port Adelaide Guineas over 1800m at Morphettville on 13 April (won by Air Assault) and two in the Group 3 Auraria Stakes over 1800m at Morphettville on 13 April (won by Wings Of Songs), while the rest came via different races. Two runners are sired by Justify. Mick Price & Michael Kent (Jnr) have 3 runners  and Andrew Gluyas has 2 runners.

The early favourite is Warmonger who just missed in the Port Adelaide Guineas and should be suited by the extra distance. Second favourite is Air Assault who won that race. Third favourite is Bold Soul who came from last to run 3rd in the same race. Shinjuku won at Sale then Pakenham before 8th in the Group 2 Alister Clark Stakes at Moonee Valley. All other runners are currently $12 or longer.
