Seven of the runners had their last start in the Group 3 Auraria Stakes over 1800m at Morphettville on 13th April (won by Wings Of Song), three in the Group 1 NZ Oaks over 2400m at Trentham on 16th March (won by Pulchritudinous) and two in the Group 3 Adrian Knox Stakes over 2000m at Randwick on 6th April (won by Good Banter), while the rest came via different races. Five runners are sired by The Autumn Sun, two by Pierro and two by Almanzor. Trainers Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott and Peter Moody & Katherine Coleman have 2 runners each.

The early betting is very open with favouritism shared between Auraria Stakes winner Wings Of Song, and Vibrant Sun who comes off a win in the Group 3 Alexandra Stakes over 1600m at Moonee Valley on 23rd March. Third favourite is Coco Sun who has won both her starts this campaign. Concello ran 3rd in the Adrian Knox. Pulchritudinous won the NZ Oaks. Queen Of Dragons ran 4th in the Group 1 Vinery Stud Stakes over 2000m at Rosehill on 30th March, while Quickster was runner-up in the Auraria. All other runners are currently $14 or longer.
