The Without Fear Stakes is a 1050 metre set weights race for two-year-olds run by the South Australian Jockey Club in early May. It is held at Morphettville on the same day as the Australasian Oaks and the TAB Classic.
In July 2020, Thoroughbred Racing South Australia (TRSA) and the South Australian Jockey Club (SAJC) unveiled the new race names of six black-type South Australian races following a joint decision to honour some of South Australian racings greatest icons. The change of race name requests were voted on by the pattern committee and presented to Racing Australia for approval. Stallion Without Fear, former jockeys Clara Lindop and John Letts, trainer Leon Macdonald, industry figure the late David Coles and galloper Tobin Bronze now all have races named in their honour.
Without Fear was a famous stallion in South Australia that was imported by trainer Colin Hayes in 1972. He set many milestones for the local breeding industry including setting a world record for the number of individual winners from a single crop.
