Anzac Day Stakes 2023 Race Details
Race 5 at Sandown Racecourse on Saturday the 29th of April 2023.
The Anzac Day Stakes is a Listed race held at Sandown Racecourse this year and is run over 1400 metres. It is for horses aged two years old and is run under handicap conditions. The total prize money is $175,000 this year.

Anzac Day Stakes 2023 Preview
Track: Good Weather: Fine
Open affair with a few chances. Legacies was a good winner on debut. It has an ideal running pattern and can lead these up from the good draw. Treasurway is still a maiden but brings in some good form and maps to get its chance. Arizona Activist wasn’t disgraced in a race harder than this last start and should appreciate the 1400 while Vivy Air was a good last start winner and also maps for a good run in transit. Most chances in the market have drawn well in this.
Anzac Day Stakes 2023 Runner by Runner
1. Chill The Krug (9)
Good last start win appreciating the rise in trip. Drawn slightly awkwardly and some of these do bring in better form. Winning chance but short enough.
2. Magic Mogul (6)
Didn’t figure in a race much harder than this last start. Monitor any late market moves.
3. Mistavain (10)
Sound effort last start in a strong race. Drawn awkwardly here with most of its rivals mapping better however warrants respect off the debut run. Top 3 chance.
4. Arizona Activist (8)
Good effort last start and the form looks good for this race. Dee does the steering and the 1400 and Flemington look ideal for it. Goes in the mix.
5. El Poder Del Sol (4) – SCRATCHED
6. Treasurway (2)
Unlucky last start and looks primed for this affair. Williams does the steering from barrier 2 and this race is well within reach. Keep very safe in this field.
7. Legacies (5)
Goes on top and gets the right race and field. The Nolen / Moody combo join forces here and it maps for a kind run and has been well backed in early markets. Hard to beat.
8. Vivy Air (3)
Enjoyed the rise in trip last start for a strong win. Finds the right race t0 go on with things. Top 3 chance at a resemble price.
9. Alectrona (1)
Sound debut. Query over the jockey booking and where it gets too from barrier 1 but goes in the mix off the debut.
10. Stellar Mofeed (7)
Can’t have.
