2023 Northam Stakes Runner by Runner

1. Massimo (6)

One of two runners for Chris & Michael Gangemi (the other is Titan Blinders). Has struggled in his 3 runs this campaign and hasn’t placed in 3 previous runs at Northam. Wait for him to return to form.

2. Red Can Man (4)

Finished 2nd in this race last year and won his only other start at Northam. Was runner-up at his first 2 starts this preparation, before 1.6 lengths 6th in The Quokka last start where he was caught wide. Strong claims.

3. Hot Zed (1)

Ran 1.1 lengths 5th in The Quokka and draws to do no work. One of the main chances.

4. Let’s Galahvant (2)

Resumed from a 21 week spell for 4.4 lengths 7th in The Joey. Normally goes well second-up and has won at this track before. Don’t dismiss.

5. Dom To Shoot (9)

Ran on strongly from the back half of the field for 0.4 length 3rd in The Joey when resuming after 13 weeks. Can threaten.

6. Comfort Me (5)

This 6YO Playing God gelding just missed for a very close 2nd in The Josy and is generally strong third-up. Capable of at least placing.

7. Titan Blinders (3)

Finished 2 lengths 4th in The Joey. Place chance.

8. Em Tee Aye (8)

Has been runner-up at his last 2 starts – the Listed Grandstand Cup over 1500m and the Listed Old Comrade Stakes over 1600m. Always a danger.

9. Staralign (7)

Resuming here after 22 weeks. Has won one of 7 first-up.
