Queensland Guineas 2023 Preview
Track: Good Weather: Fine
Kovalica heads the market and will be hard to hold out despite the wide draw. It is short enough but has a class edge on the field and is the clear one to beat. Perfect Thought has a few lengths to find on the favourite but will enjoy stretching out in trip. No knock on how The Fortune Teller is going and it maps for the dream run here. Some query over the form around The Vowels but it is hard to knock winning form and that can park off the speed and run over these with some luck in running. A solid tempo should be engaged in this.
Queensland Guineas 2023 Runner by Runner
1. Perfect Thought (14)
Has to find a few lengths on the favourite in this but will be strips fitter and does bring class to the table. Sticky draw is the query.
2. The Fortune Teller (3)
Quality galloper that launches from an ideal draw. Some query back onto drier ground but the stable are in excellent form and this race is within reach.
3. Kovalica (11)
Deserving favourite who just has to overcome the barrier to be putting this lot away. Like the booking of Nash and Kovalica looks destined for bigger and better things than this. Deserving favourite.
4. Bronsan (6)
Sound effort 2 runs back and didn’t quite see it out last start. Finds the right race to bounce back in.
5. The Vowels (16)
Just keeps winning and must be respected off that manner. Some query around its form and the draw but hard to knock a winner. Goes in the mix.
6. Tapildoodledo (12)
Can’t have.
7. Waitak (8)
Import who was good on debut and wouldn’t have to find a whole lot more to be taking this out. Goes in the mix off the last start run.
8. Cocobrew Express (1)
Can’t have.
9. Brookhaven (15)
This looks too tough.
10. Bulikov (9)
Should plonk on speed and run a bold race. Place chance but couldn’t have it to win.
11. Yasuke (10)
Quality galloper with good upside but would prefer it in something easier.
12. Magdan (3)
Short SP last start but up a few grades here. Not hopeless at $81.00 with the good draw.
13. Nippa’s Nightcap (4)
This looks too tough.
14. Rising Pacific (13)
Prefer others.
15. Noah ‘N’ A Deel (2)
Can’t have.
16. Lady Le Da (7)
Prefer others.
