VRC Winter Championship 2022 Preview
Track: Soft Weather: Fine
Strong field with Tuvalu leading the market and put them to the sword with an excellent ride last start. Well placed to go on with it here and should roll forward from the wide draw. Sir Davy is very honest and knows how to win while Looks Like Elvis has hit form again and remains a threat. Speed will be sound.
VRC Winter Championship 2022 Runner by Runner
1. Serpentine (15)
Prefer others.
2. Dawn Patrol (3)
Keep an eye on the market. Put together some mixed performances last prep but is capable and can show up fresh.
3. Too Close The Sun (7)
Very strong 2nd up record and looks the leader in the race. Should be in the mix at a good price.
4. So Si Bon (12)
Tricky to catch and the market is reflecting that. Can take this out but has been a long time between drinks and needs to lift on form.
5. Looks Like Elvis (13)
Really struck form recently and can give this race a shake. Drawn awkwardly but a repeat of its last run sees it in the finish.
6. Creedence (5)
Prefer others.
7. Frankie Pinot (17)
Flying this prep and just needs a pinch of luck at the right time to be steaming home at good odds. Major player.
8. Hi Stranger (14)
No wins from 17 goes at this track. Can’t have.
9. Lunar Flare (4)
Keep an eye on the market. Not known to be one to back fresh but its trials have been sound.
10. Paul’s Regret (8)
Good win last start. Tends to mix form but has the right race to go on with things here. Major player.
11. Biometric (9)
Deserved the win last start and has bobbed up a big price here. Keep very safe.
12. Tuvalu (18)
Always been a big fan of Tuvalu and it finds another winnable race. The wide draw is the knock but it has plenty of early speed and there aren’t too many leaders in this race. The clear one to beat.
13. Edison (10)
A long time between drinks for Edison. Building up to a win but hard to trust.
14. Mohican Heights (16)
Prefer others.
15. Sir Davy (1)
Super honest competitor who just needs luck from the draw given its running pattern. Can take this out but suited being drawn wider and will need a gap at the right time.
16. Mystery Shot (6)
Flew home last run. Solid chance on a 1×3 basis but really needs another win.
17. Winning Partner (2)
Can’t have.
18. Prince Of Helena (11)
Good win last start and can show up at odds with an on pace steer. Overs at $51.
