Glasshouse Handicap – 2022

Track: Good Weather: Fine

A wide open field for this years edition. Desert Lord maps to perfection from the highly astute Vandkye stable and should prove hard to hold out. Holyfield ran extremely well last start and should be landing on the speed again and proving hard to run down. Kubrick can be tough to catch but has the hoof on the till while Salateen is loaded with upside and can win this.

1. Buffalo River (13)

Better suited on a heavy track and has been costly to punters of late. Prefer others.

2. Niccanova (5)

One of the hardest horses in Australia to catch. Has the talent but hard to trust. Prefer others.

3. Holyfield (9)

Strong last start win. Should be able to lead these up and give a nice kick, just needs to get across from the draw. Hard to beat.

4. Desert Lord (3)

Maps to perfection from the draw and brings in likeable form. Very overdue for a win and strikes a suitable race. Massive chance.

5. Kubrick (17)

Hard to catch but is knocking on the door. Poor record at the trip however does fly 4th up and suspect Waller will have it ready to peak.

6. Blondeau (20)

Unlucky last start. Barrier 20 may not be so bad for it given its racing pattern. Can win this if horses are making up ground from the back. Keep safe.

7. Last Chance (10)

Brings in the right form and just needs luck in running from the draw to figure.

8. Vinco (12)

Not a great ride last start or watch for backers. Keep an eye on the market, I was quite keen on its hopes last run and this does look no harder.

9. Salateen (11)

Knocking on the door and has a load of upside. Thornton will need to be good from barrier 11 but this looks a suitable race. Great hope.

10. Charleise (14)

Needs a win and this looks the right race. Has been costly for punters but worth keeping safe and an eye on the market. Capable.

11. Dzsenifer (23)

Loves racing here but given no favours from the draw. Very consistent type and is over the odds on 1 x3 basis.

12. Tumbler Ridge (6)

Tumbler is battling for form this time in. Has stacks of talent and on its day can produce a massive run but is a little tricky to catch. Can’t have.

13. Gospodin (1)

Would be a surprise.

14. Phaistos (7)

Can’t have.

15. Bottega (15)

Has ability and has won fresh before. Prefer over other trips given its record over this distance however strikes a suitable race and can bob up at odds.

16. Majestic Shot (2)

Always had plenty of time for this one and draws nicely. Becoming a little costly and needs a win but racing honestly and a repeat of last run sees it go awfully close.

17. Red Chase (18)

Solid effort last start and just needs to hold that form to go close. Does tend to mix its form but has won at the track and that is a massive bonus here.

18. At Witz End (21)

Can’t have.

19. Le Gai Soleil (16)

Certainly not hopeless at odds and has an excellent record at the trip. Worth a speck at $61.

20. Willo Titto (4)

Can’t have.

21. Bullfinch (19)

Like Bullfinch over this trip. Tough draw but the jockey knows the horse well, good claims.

22. Prometheus (8)

Can’t have.

23. Hilo (22)

Needs to lift.
