Winx Guineas – 2022

Track: Good Weather: Fine

This year’s edition sees a strong chance in the market with Battleton being represented by Nash Rawiller from the Bjorn Baker stable. Battleton maps well and will be hard to hold out with strong Sydney form lines. Majestic Colour continues to win and deserves its chance in the big league while Subterranean is coming off a strong last start win and Whitewater races well at the track. The tempo looks quite slow.

1. Subterranean (12)

Strong last start win getting the chocolates for us. Slightly harder here but has always shown promising signs and may be putting it all together. Big danger to the favourite and a nice 1×3 bet.

2. Battleton (4)

Deserves to be leading the market and brings in some excellent form around Kiss Sum who was extremely good and deserving of a win. Battleton would only need to hold its form to be in the finish and maps to get the perfect run in transit. Hard to beat.

3. Collay’s Spirit (8)

Can’t have.

4. Whitewater (6)

Whitewater was strong winning last start and does have the advantage of racing well at the track. If some of these don’t handle the Sunshine Coast, Whitewater can take full advantage of that and put these to the sword. Major contender.

5. Ashgrove (3)

Ashgrove has an ideal running pattern and should be in this for a long way. Just the 1 win from 8 starts is the concern and this is no easier than last start so it will need to be bringing its very best to take this out.

6. Majestic Colour (14)

Continues to win and that’s all you can do in racing. Harder here and comes up with a tricky draw but the long straight suits and this race is well within reach.

7. Tarex (15)

Unlucky last run but drawn to get no favours here again. Capable of taking this out with luck in running but plenty will need to go right from the draw.

8. Master Marko (7)

Can’t have.

9. Prince Alby (10)

This looks too tough.

10. Indiscreetly (2)

Gets the perfect draw and brings in a good sense of timing. Maps well and is a winner second up. Big danger to the favourite.

11. Rayjen (11)

Going okay and isn’t the worst at odds but prefer others at this stage.

12. Rose Of Duporth (9)

Can run a top 4 finish. Super honest competitor and scratched from an easier race for this. Weary.

13. Notions (5)

Doing well and maps to get the right run. Will need to find a ratings spike but does have good scope and upside.

14. Sebring’s Rose (1)

Can’t have.

15. Champagne Pop (13)

Big rise in grade but was strong winning last start. Keep an eye on the market.

16. Lovin’ De Quo (16)

Can’t have.
