Straight Six – 2022

Track: Good Weather: Fine

Plenty of speed on in this and not much separates the first few in the market. It’sourtime has been looking for another win and certainly enjoys racing down the straight. Front Page was outstanding on resumption and will take some holding out while the best version of Ranting was seen last start and remains a query as to whether he can back it up again.

1. Blazejowski (8)

Runs well fresh and knows how to win at the track and down the straight. Big odds in this and Josh Richards rides the horse very well. Great chance.

2. Hi Stranger (17)

Needs to lift on current form and no wins from 15 runs at the track, can’t have.

3. Regardsmaree (10)

Very over the odds. Regardsmaree has been racing exceptionally well and can notch up another win here. Expecting good market support and has the turn of foot to run over these late.

4. Sansom (4)

Can’t have.

5. Milton Park (18)

Monitor the market but needs to lift on current form.

6. Romancer (12)

Known to cause a blowout result and does enjoy racing at this track. Won this race last year. Chance at odds but no wins from 13 starts with Childs in the saddle doesn’t fill me with confidence. Great chance to place.

7. Great Again (5)

Won this race in 2020. Can’t have.

8. Sirius Suspect (14)

Has been hard to catch on current form. Ran 3rd in this race in 2019. Solid chance to place.

9. Front Page (9)

Outstanding return and got a very deserved win. Should only be improved off the long break and is the clear one to beat in this. Currently over the odds an I expect it to start clear favourite.

10. Ranting (6)

Very good when on song but terribly hard to catch for punters. Can it put two wins together remains the query but would only have to hold its form to be in the finish again.

11. Charleise (15)

Does race well fresh and this trip suits. Keep an eye on the market.

12. It’sourtime (7)

Beaten at short odds far too often lately. Has the right form and plenty of ability but has looked well placed in its past 4 or 5 starts and hasn’t been notching up that next elusive win. Becoming hard to trust and under the odds here.

13. Bam’s On Fire (11)

Keep an eye on the market, capable.

14. Curran (2)

Major player and does race well here and fresh. 1200 suits first up and can pounce on this lot late.

15. Ocean Beyond (13)

Ticking along okay and it was a likeable return. Known to race well 2nd up and demands respect in an even field.

16. On The Lead (1)

Not hopeless at odds and Sydney form must always be respected. Had no luck last run but the win prior was quite good to the eye and on the clock. Can take this out at huge odds.

17. Florescent Star (3)

Sneaking under the radar at a big price and has never missed the quinella at the track. $31 seems large and is a good each way hope.

18. Crestani (16)

Tricky to back from a punting perspective but Crestani is ticking along well. Can take this out.
