R.M Ansett Classic – 2022

Track: Soft  Weather: Fine

Not much between these in the market and an intriguing race for the stayers. Saracen Knight is ticking along well and looks primed for another win with Jamie Kah and launching from a good draw. Impulsar was a little poor last run but can bounce back in this. King Of The Castle is stuck on the one win but has plenty of upside. Harmysian will be hitting the line hard and likes this track while Tigertiger will be better for the run but does relish this track and trip and is a strong market watch.

2. Irish Flame (7)

Any rain will really help Irish Flame who has had 9 runs on the bog for 3 wins and 3 placings. Stackhouse does the steering and Irish Flame is a big weather watch. Expect it to firm heavily if it rains.

3. The Good Fight (10)

Ran 4th in this race last year and looks to be on track for a similar effort. Leaning to others at this stage but a solid top 4 contender.

4. Tigertiger (3)

Ticks so many boxes here. Has never missed the quinella at Mornington. Flies with Higgins in the saddle. Has never missed the quinella over this trip however, the first up record is very poor.

5. Port Guillaume (4)

Won well last start but needs to find a few lengths to challenge these.

6. Saracen Knight (5)

Flying at the moment and looks well placed for another win. With 54kgs and Jamie Kah in the saddle Saracen Knight should be giving these a run for their money. Hard to beat.

7. Harmysian (11)

Harmysian has never missed the placings with Noonan aboard. It has placed on this track and has won over this trip. Good claims in an open race despite the wide draw.

8. Impulsar (9)

Impulsar was poor last start but can bounce back in this race. The stable print money over the staying trips and Impulsar can return to form and take this out. Has won over this trip and looks nicely placed against this lot.

9. King Of The Castle (8)

Caught on the one win but the return was rock solid. Has a run under the belt which is more than some of these and Jye Mcneil will do the steering from barrier 8. This race is a winnable one and its form back overseas was mainly in open company. Massive chance at the $6.00 mark and should outstay these.

10. Verimli (1)

2/3 over this trip, gets barrier 1 and an intriguing booking. Keep safe and respect any market moves for this import.
