Queensland Day Stakes – 2022

1. Shaquero (11)

Shaquero has plenty of class and should give a sight in this field. Hasn’t won for quite some time but has no shortage of ability and must be respected in this field.

2. Ingratiating (3)

Needs to lift on form but barrier 3 and a dry track could be the right recipe. Nash is in excellent form and does the steering, demands serious respect in this field.

3. Athelric (9)

Got the nose down at the right time last start thanks to an exceptionally good ride from the young apprentice Dylan Gibbons. Major player in this field and can win again, just needs a pinch of luck from the draw.

4. Release The Beans (8)

Suited coming back onto a dry track and chances only helped by the booking of Tim Clark. Just needs a pinch of luck from the draw.

5. Hamlet Von Snitzel (2)

Going along well enough and drawn to do no work. Looks a chance for the top 4 but I’d like to see a market push for it.

6. Arantee (5)

Mountains of upside and highly progressive. Finds its self in some strong races quickly but does look well within reach. Barrier 5 is ideal and should land on the speed and give a kick. Massive respect.

7. Zavaboom (6)

J-Mac is a good push for the chances of Zavaboom who does race better on the fresh side and thats the main query, it is yet to win past first-up in its prep. That being said, this race is winnable and the map looks highly suitable to stalk the speed and pounce late.

8. Devastating (14)

Got the win last start and was knocking on the door but this is a reasonable step up in grade. First 4 chance.

9. Nord Lyon (4)

Sharp rise in grade for Nord Lyon. Has the right draw to give a good sight. Keep an eye on the market.

10. Rhapsody Rose (12)

Has a nice second up record but will need some luck with the map. Potentially can sit outside the leader and just needs to find somewhere in running that isn’t covering too much ground. Good chance in this field.

11. Stellar Magic (7)

Ticking along well but now needs to find best form. Has won third up in the past and gets the in form Ben Thompson to steer.

12. Enterprise Pomme (12)

Tough map with a fair bit of speed on paper. Can win with luck but needs to find the front according to its previous wins.

13. Joyous Legend (1)

Poor last run but should be suited getting onto a drier track. Keep safe.

14. Putontheredlight (10)

Suited back onto good footing. Awkward draw but can be in the finish with even luck in running.

15. Oriental Princess (13)

Can’t have.
