2022 Pam O’Neill Stakes Race Details

Race 9 at Doomben Racecourse on Saturday 9th July 2022.

The 2022 Magic Millions Pam O’Neill Stakes is held at Doomben Racecourse and is run over 1600 metres. It is for fillies and mares aged 3-years and older and is run under set weights plus penalties conditions. The total prize money is $150,000.

2022 Pam O’Neill Stakes Preview

Track: Heavy Weather: Wet

Competitive edition with Charmmebaby leading the market and looks a solid each way bet bringing in the right form and having handled wet ground in the past. Dzsenifer is next in the market and continues to race well while Easifar comes from the Waller yard and brings in some strong ratings. Seleque continues to win and should pose a strong threat while Tycoon Evie is ready to peak third up and See Marie has claims after not having much luck in its last run. Cafe Royal goes on top at $71 with huge claims on a wet track and gets a weight swing on Dzsenifer.

Pam O’Neill Stakes Runner by Runner

1. Tamahere (19)

Racing well enough but going to need plenty of luck from the wide draw. Where it gets to in the run is a query but if they are coming out wide later on in the day it can give a good sight.

2. Charmmebaby (9)

A superb horse that is super honest and has an explosive turn of foot. Hasn’t missed the quinella at the track and handles heavy conditions. Just needs a pinch of luck from the draw but can figure at odds.

3. Dzsenifer (5)

Loves racing at the track and has a strong 4th up record. Marshall rides the horse well however the question must be asked why there is $63 between Dzsenifer and Cafe Royal when there was very little between them last time they met.

4. She’s The Gift (4)

Brings along some smart form and if Waller decides to let it run I am respecting his decision. Yet to fire on wet tracks is the query, keep an eye on the market.

5. Easifar (11)

Continues to race well and this is a suitable assignment. Has a win on a heavy deck and can get a tow into the race at the right time from the draw.

6. Cliff’s Art (20)

Racing in superb fashion and suited at the weights. The query is the wide draw and record on heavy tracks however if they coming down the outside later on in the day it certainly has claims. Top 4 player.

7. Seleque (14)

Another Waller runner that has hit superb form. Orman has an excellent record aboard and it handles heavy tracks. Massive chance at good odds.

8. Willo Titto (12)

Can’t have.

9. Tycoon Evie (3)

Reasonable drop in grade, decent enough first and second up run and enjoys this track and trip. Over the odds in a competitive race.

10. Cafe Royal (13)

I have Cafe Royal on top at $71. Comes back to QL where its past 3 runs included 2 wins and a 3rd. Cafe Royal meets Dzsenifer 1kg better at the weights for a 0.6 length margin last time they met. Scratching the head as to why Cafe Royal is 8 times the price.

11. Adelase (6)

Just battling of late. Prefer others.

12. Zigallene (7)

Can’t have on current form.

13. Zing (8)

Another Waller runner with claims. Has gone a little off the boil in NSW but can bob up here at odds Respect any market moves.

14. Lovely Esteem (17) – scratched

15. See Marie (18)

No luck last run when caught wide. Again may find that problem from the draw but certainly has the talent to win.

16. Rhapsody Rose (2) – scratched

Can’t have.

18. Flandersrain (1)

Has talent but needs to find on form.

19. Narrated (16)

Racing superbly and can handle a wet deck. Well placed in this and has top 4 claims.
