Track: Heavy Weather: Wet

A very even field where we are likely to see a wet track from plenty of rain early on in the week. Snowzone is one that will relish these conditions and is a super consistent operator. Contemptuous is a winner and knows how to find the line. Despite the wide draw it can take this out. Winside continues to race well and poses a threat while Mr Mosaic brings in strong form from Sydney. The tempo should be hot.

1. Usmanov (2)

Should be getting a cosy run in transit from the nice draw and is a winner on this track and in heavy conditions. Has claims in this at double figures.

2. Mr Mosaic (13)

Has early speed and can find the front. It depends if the rail is the spot to be by this time of day but does bring in some excellent form from Sydney and gets the in form apprentice to steer.

3. Garibaldi (12)  – SCRATCHED

4. Neidorp (9)

Has plenty of class however no placings from 2 efforts on wet tracks does pose some query. Has class and plenty of talent but its chances diminish on the heavy. Respect any market moves.

5. Simply Fly (3)

2 wins from 3 goes on the heavy and drawn to perfection. The knock for Simply Fly is the poor record at the track with just the one placing from 5 attempts. The wet weather keeps its chances strong in this.

6. Boomtown Lass (8)

Needs to lift on current form. Prefer others.

7. Centrefire (4)

Centrefire can be a little hit and miss but it has a good turn of foot, handles conditions and maps very kindly in this race. A little surprised it is favourite however it is certainly a top 4 player.

8. Contemptuous (10)

An absolute winner. The draw and conditions are both potential knocks here for Contemptuous but it certainly knows how to find the line and can win.

9. Tahitian Dancer (11)

Query with the poor record on wet tracks and the wide draw. I suspect Gollan has faith it will handle the conditions if he elects it to run so respect any market moves.

10. Snowzone (6)

Classy operator who relishes heavy conditions and has an extremely consistent strike rate. Keep very safe.

11. Winside (5)

Such a consistent Mare who goes very well for Lacy having only missed the quinella once from 6 starts. Relishes the heavy and is well over the odds.

12. Pandora Blue (7)

Going okay but has a poor record on wet tracks. Prefer others.

13. Just Field (1)

Can’t have.
