Northwood Plume Stakes – 2022

Track: Good Weather: Fine

The market is lead by Zapateo who boasts plenty of ability from the in form Godolphin camp. Turaath returns and should give a bold sight fresh while Another Award should be fitter 2nd up and Seradess looks nice value with a strong second up record and 1200 record. The tempo looks to be solid with a few of them expected to go forward.

1. Turaath (4)

Didn’t get a win last prep but wasn’t far from them in most runs. Lane steers from barrier 4 and if left alone up front it will be hard to run down. Has won on the track before and has solid claims against this lot.

2. Seradees (11)

Should appreciate dry ground and being second up. The record at the track is a slight concern but Seradees runs very well over the 1200 and this race is within reach.

3. Zapateo (12)

Ollie steers for the Godolphin camp and Zapateo has been racing in some extremely good fashion. This race is certainly within reach and it deserves to be favourite coming off a strong last start win.

4. Pauls Regret (13)

Flies fresh and does bring in some strong form. 1/1 with Fry aboard and looks large odds.

5. Written Beauty (7)

Needs another win but has been racing without luck and J-Mac is a very eye catching booking. This race is within reach but Written Beauty is overdue.

6. Zouzarella (15)

Needs to lift on form but classy on its day. Poor record at the track but worth respecting any market moves.

7. Ancient Girl (1)

Flies fresh and gets barrier 1. Tough race here and an acid test for it but ticks a few boxes, gets Zahra who is 1/1 aboard and is good enough to take this out.

8. Chassis (2)

Dangerous fresh from the stable who can win absolutely anything.

9. Literary Magnate (6)

Raced without much luck last prep including once being a moral beaten when being held up multiple times. Yendall has won aboard previously and barrier should ensure the right run in transit. Looks large odds and can take this out.

10. Decent Raine (5)

Classy galloper with a poor record at the track and would prefer toe in the ground but returned well, maps nicely and has the ability to take this race out.

11. Another Award (8)

Brings some strong form in. Holder sticks for the ride and he knows the horse very well. The record at the distance is a strong one and the $9.50 is over the odds in a suitable race. It wasn’t in the A-ground behind Zapateo and looks well placed here to turn the tables. On top pick.

12. Vespertine (3)

Has a booming turn of foot and ran well fresh last prep. May need some luck from barrier 3 but flies on this track and is large odds.

13. Galgani (9)

Can’t have.

14. Apres La Mer (14)

Stiffer test here but super win last start. Should plonk on the speed and give a great sight in a winnable race. The $21.00 is a good price, it just need some luck from the draw.

15. Jump The Broom (10)

Prefer others.
