Hawkesbury Rush 2023 Preview
Track: Good Weather: Fine
Intriguing race. Athelric has been around the mark this prep and will be hard to hold out. A Very Fine Red is proven at this level and just needs the breaks to go its way. Titanium Power will plonk on the speed and be hard to mow down. Malkovich is a classy galloper and has the edge against these while Andermatt goes in the mix but is a query from barrier 1.
Hawkesbury Rush 2023 Runner by Runner
1. Athelric (4)
Excellent last run with no luck. Sets up kindly here with barrier 4 and Nash. Only runs well despite seeing the track for the first time. Any rain is a bonus.
2. Malkovich (12)
Classy runner that has the edge on these. Proven in better races than this. Should be able to land right up on the speed and give a strong kick. Suitable race and field. Like its chances here.
3. Andermatt (1)
Where to from barrier 1 is a huge query for Andermatt. Great hope in this field but may get buried on the fence. Strong chance with even luck in running.
4. Titanium Power (7)
Should be able to land on the speed and prove hard to get past. Prebble is an in ideal booking and any on speed bias will be in its favour.
5. Zethus (9)
Keep an eye on the market. Can run a bold race fresh.
6. Juan Diva (8)
Hard to catch horse that is hard to beat at its best but is take on trust. Can win but leaning to others.
7. Night Of Romance (5)
Import that is a market watch.
8. Prince Invincible (3)
Has been around the mark but harder here. Not hopeless.
9. Surreal Step (6)
Can’t have.
10. A Very Fine Red (11)
Quality galloper who will be pouncing on them late. Suited by any speed on and in nicely at the weights with just 53kgs on its back. Hard to beat in this.
11. Fox Fighter (10)
Will need luck from the draw but has ability. Good roughie and can win if things fall into place.
12. Zorocat (2)
Can’t have.
