George Moore Stakes 2023 Preview
Track: Heavy Weather: Fine
This looks the right race for Rothfire who has been chasing star Imperatriz and will appreciate the drop in class. I have always had a strong opinion of Nettuno and it returned a better, more relaxed horse and can go on with things here. The Big Goodbye should get a nice run from barrier 3 and looks hard to beat while Deepour and Zoustyle have the class factor each and look well poised in this.
George Moore Stakes 2023 Runner by Runner
1. Rothfire (1)
His chances look excellent in this with form around star horse Imperatriz. Has options from barrier 1 and a class edge on the field. Goes clearly on top.
2. Baller (13)
Capable of a big finish on his day and also proven fresh. The map is okay as he will get back in the run and be launching late. Can win.
3. Alpine Edge (9)
Form tapered off at the end of last prep. Good enough to win but has to lift.
4. Zoustyle (10)
Racing in good fashion and didn’t have any luck last start. Can roll forward and be hard to beat.
5. Rocketing By (12)
Bounced back to form with a placing last start on his favourite track. He’s running the patience thin but is good enough to win.
6. The Big Goodbye (3)
Maps for a kind run and looks well placed in this field. Weighted well against this lot and should prover hard to beat against these. Likeable chances.
7. Nettuno (2)
I’ve had high regard of him for a while now and the return win was excellent. Much tougher here but he is on the up and can win again.
8. Vinco (6)
Prefer others.
9. All That Pizzazz (8)
Has been around the mark all prep and gets a suitable race here. Sticky draw but goes in the mix.
10. Ef Troop (11) – SCRATCHED
11. Deepour (4)
Needs to find nearly 4 lengths off Nettuno and looks well under the odds. Looking at others.
12. Snowzone (7)
Can’t have.
13. Legal Esprit (5)
Prefer others.
