Theo Marks Stakes 2023 Preview
Track: Good Weather: Fine
Even contest. Argentia was very good last start and looks well placed against this. Golden Mile has had excuses so far this prep and is over the odds off its luckless first up run. Madame Pommery looks well placed from the good draw and should be hard to hold out. Cross Talk is racing in excellent fashion and this looks a suitable race for it while Nugget was super last prep and is good enough to take this out fresh.

Capable of a big run fresh in this. Map looks good from barrier 6 and does have a strong first up record.
2. Kirwan’s Lane (4)
Prefer others.
3. Kovalica (10)
Maps tricky and resumes from a break. Keep an eye on the market.
4. Nugget (12)
Star runner resuming. May need the run but sure to be hitting the line hard and has plenty of talent and ability. Hard to hold out in this.
5. Golden Mile (7)
Is overlooked by markets. Luckless first up run before pulling up with issues last start. Over the odds.
6. Zougotcha (8) – SCRATCHED
7. Madame Pommery (1)
Hard to knock. Maps well on the speed with Gibbo doing the steering. Gets the run of the race and going well enough to figure here.
8. Cross Talk (17)
Has enough speed to offset the wide draw. Mixed its form last prep but always tends to race well on the fresh side and is capable of giving these a scare if wound up enough.
9. Argentia (9)
Racing well and excellent effort last start. Maps Kindly and looks hard to beat in this company.
10. Tamerlane (13)
Maps tough from the draw but has a booming turn of foot. Can give this a shake but will need a cracking steer from out there.
11. Wild Planet (16) – SCRATCHED
12. Flying Crazy (14)
Prefer others.
13. Deep Snow (2)
Can’t have.
14. Waterford (3)
Resumes from a break. Classy when on song and maps kindly. Was a bit hard to catch last prep but warrants any respect in the market.
15. Commando Hunt (15)
Can’t have.
16. Cuban Royale (5)
Racing well but does look out of depth in this.
