Track: Soft Weather: Chance of a shower
A boutique field of six are set to go around in the $175,000 Listed McKenzie Stakes. Three of them resume, including the unbeaten favourite Steparty. He was very impressive winning twice at Flemington in June – times and margins suggest he can measure right up here. The second pick in the market is Brave Mead. He has been heavily supported since prices went up on Wednesday.

Godolphin colt who closed off well here first up against easier company. Think he’s looking for further.
2. Heuristic – SCRATCHED
3. Brave Mead
Did some nice things in his first prep and has been jumping out very nicely ahead of this first up assignment. Expect him to sit outside lead and offer a kick on the turn.
4. Steparty
Loved what this colt did in his first campaign. Was all style in his three wins. The stable is absolutely airborne and he maps to get a gun trail for J Allen here first up. Top pick.
5. Scentify
Was an amazing win here first up, unleashing a big sprint from last on the fence. Wouldn’t surprise to see him step his rating at least a length or two off that which gives him a hope here if the resumers are a touch rusty.
6. Introducing
Waterhouse Bott runner who should fine the top from the inside alley. He’s no world beater but should be suited around the Valley.
7. Armed Forces
Waller resumer. He needs to lift on what he’s done to date to be a factor here. Happy to watch him.
