The Golden Eagle 2023 Race Details
Race 8 at Rosehill Racecourse on Saturday the 4th of November 2023.
The Golden Eagle is the second richest race in Australia. It is a feature race held at Rosehill Racecourse and is run over 1500 metres. It is run under set weight conditions and is for horses aged four-years-old. The total prize money is $10,000,000 this year.

The Golden Eagle 2023 Preview
Track: Good Weather: Fine
Wide open race and a very intriguing affair where Chris Waller trains 5 of the 20 runners. Hawaii Five Oh will get every chance from the draw and looks well placed in this field. Amelia’s Jewel was too bad to be true last run but finds the right race to bounce back in. Legarto was a good winner last start and goes in the mix. Kovalica is probably looking for further now but has claims in this field while Osipenko ticks boxes and can give this a shake with the right run in transit.

1. Hawaii Five Oh (4)
Hard to knock this runner who gets the good draw and looks well placed in this field. Sure to be in the finish.
2. Attrition (19) – SCRATCHED
3. Pericles (1)
Will need the gaps at some point but having a great prep and drawn to do no work. A good steer will be crucial to its chances.
4. Golden Mile (18)
Tough draw and needs to lift off last run. Can’t have.
5. Kovalica (16)
Very smart galloper but barrier 16 requires a few things to fall into place. Would prefer over further but very hard to knock the form its in.
6. Redeiner (3)
Having a great prep. The good draw suits and should give this a shake.
7. Osipenko (8)
The map horse that can sit midfield and explode late. Gets the right race here and just needs even luck from barrier 8.
8. Strait Acer (7)
Can’t have.
9. Communist (12)
Prefer others.
10. Coin Toss (17)
Can’t have.
11. Knight’s Choice (10)
Not this time.
12. Obamburumai (2)
Japanese runner that creates interest and they often go well down here. Keep an eye on the market for a guide on its chances in this.
13. New Endeavour (13)
Can’t have.
14. Age Of Kings (11)
Prefer others.
15. Galeron (14)
This looks too tough.
16. Amelia’s Jewel (5)
Poor last run but will be looking to bounce back in this. Great test for her and she maps for a dream run. Massive watch and goes on top.
17. Ruthless Dame (20)
Sound last run but the barrier makes things very tricky.
18. Legarto (6)
Good win last start. Harder here but drawn to advantage and gets the in form Dee steering. Ticks plenty of boxes.
19. Vienna Princess (9)
Can’t have.
20. Razeta (15)
Prefer others.
