2023 Karrakatta Plate Runner by Runner

1. Snow Prince (13)

Has raced 3 times and has made the trifecta each time. Lots went wrong when he finished 3rd in the Perth Stakes. Place chance.

2. Ripcord (8)

One of two runners for trainer Luke Fernie (the other is Dublin Red). Won the Perth Stakes at his only race start and should go well again.

3. Alotofbanter (12)

This gelding won on debut then finished 0.5 length 2nd in the Perth Stakes. He is one of 4 runners for trainer Simon A Miller (the others are Live To Tell, Wiley Girl and Brave Strike) who won this race last year with Amelia’s Jewel. Can show up.

4. Blue Lagoon (1)

One of 2 runners for Susan Olive (the other is Catch The Red Eye). has drawn the inside barrier and has been placed in 2 of his 3 starts, but looks tested here.

5. Catch The Red Eye (7)

Prefer others.

6. Live To Tell (9)

She was a 1.5 length winner of the Listed Supremacy Stakes over 1000m at Ascot on 18 March, then was the Gimcrack Stakes winner where she won in a faster time than boys in the Perth Stakes. Top pick.

7. Super Smink (6)

Ran on strongly from mid-field for a close 2nd in the Gimcrack. One of the key players.

8. Shell Bell (11)

Led all the way for a 2.2 length win in a 2YO Plate over 1000m at Ascot on 8 April with William Pike riding. This is much harder but keep an eye on the betting.

9. Wiley Girl (5)

Won her last start by over 2 lengths and has only raced twice. William Pike takes the reins and she can figure in the finish.

10. Brave Strike (2)

Won on debut then 3.9 lengths 9th in the Gimcrack. Gets the blinkers back on. Not the worst.

11. Bonny Rock (10)

She has been runner-up at all 3 of her starts. Outside hope.

12. Ecstasy Of Gold (4)

Has one place from five runs. This looks too hard.

13. Dublin Red (3)

Debuted for 4.4 lengths 10th in the Gimcrack after trialling well. Looking elsewhere.
