2020 Golden Rose Stakes Race Details

Race 7 at Rosehill on Saturday 26 September 2020.

The Golden Rose Stakes is a 1400 metre race for three-year-olds run under set weight conditions held by the Australian Turf Club at Rosehill. It is held during September and is the feature race of the programme.

Golden Rose Stakes 2020 Preview

Track: Good   Weather: Fine

There is a field of nine runners for the $1,000,000 Golden Rose Stakes and six of them had their last start in the Group 2 Run To The Rose over 1200m on 12 September, while two had their last start in the Listed Dulcify Stakes over 1500m on 12 September. The early favourite is Rothfire who resumed with an impressive 1.5 length win in the Run To The Rose and has won seven of his eight starts. Second favourite is North Pacific who was 3rd in that race after an incredible 5.3 length win in the Up And Coming Stakes over 1300m the start before.. Third favourite is Ole Kirk who was runner-up in the Run To The Rose last outing.

Peltzer was 4th in the Run To The Rose after 2nd in the Group 3 San Domenico Stakes the start before.  Mamaragan was 6th in the Run To The Rose, while King’s Legacy finished 7th. Global Quest was 2nd in the Dulcify Stakes  behind the classy Mo’unga, while Sauvestre and Yardstick are currently 50 to 1 or longer.
