There is a field of 10 runners for the $750,000 Underwood Stakes and four  of them had their last start in the Group 1 Makybe Diva Stakes on 12 September while two others had their last start in the Group 2 John Feehan Stakes on 5 September. The early favourite is four-year-old  Russian Camelot who has three wins and two places from five starts and was a close 2nd in the Makybe Diva last outing. Second favourite is topweight Arcadia Queen, the only mare in the race, who has won six of her 11 starts. Third favourite is Mr Quickie who resumed for 2nd in the Group 1 Memsie Stakes on 29 August.

Harbour Views has 6 wins and 4 places from 11 starts but is yet to win a black-type race. Humidor was 3rd in this race in 2018 and returned to the winner’s stall for the first time in two years in the Feehan Stakes last start. The Chosen One is a solid stayer and might find this too short. So Si Bon was 3rd in the Makybe Diva Stakes and has not won a Group 1 in 21 attempts, while Gailo Chop (who was 3rd in this race in 2017), Trap For Fools (who was 7th in this race last year) and Levendi  are currently 50 to 1 or longer.

Finished 11th in the Makybe Diva when resuming and likely to need another run or two.

3rd in the Makybe Diva Stakes and has not won a Group 1 in 21 attempts

6. Mr Quickie

Resumed for 2nd in the Group 1 Memsie Stakes. Should enjoy the step up in distance.

7. The Chosen One

Has placed twice in eight Group 1 runs and looking elswewhere.

8. Harbour Views

Has 6 wins and 4 places from 11 starts but is yet to win a black-type race.

9. Arcadia Queen

The only mare in the race, who has won six of her 11 starts and will make her presence felt
