Our Morphettville Horse Racing Tips for the weekend.

The feature races are the Group 3 Auraria Stakes (race 7), Group 3 R N Irwin Stakes (race 8) and the Listed Redelva Stakes (race 6).

Instant Celebrity (Morphettville Race 6 No. 1)
This three-year-old Not A Single Doubt filly trained by Phillip Stokes has had four wins and a place from five starts. She sprinted to the front at the 150m and won by a length in the Group 2 Thousand Guineas Prelude over 1400m at Caulfield on 26 September, then settled well back before chasing hard and closing the entire straight for 1.75, 0.2 lengths 3rd in the Group 1 Thousand Guineas over 1600m at Caulfield on 10 October where she tasted defeat for the first time. Resuming after 27 weeks she won a recent trial and should be the winner of the Redelva Stakes.

Each Way

Desired  (Morphettville Race 1 No. 4):
This two-year-old Rich Enuff filly trained by Tony McEvoy has one win from her two starts. On debut she led all the way and kicked clear at the 200m to win by 1.3 lengths over 900m at Murray Bridge on 16 October, then tackled the Group 3 Ottawa Stakes over 1000m at Flemington on 5 November where she jumped awkwardly and just battled steadily for 4.1 lengths 9th. She resumes after 23 weeks and was 2nd in a recent trial. Looks a nice bet at each-way odds.

Best Lay

Wings Of Pastrami (Morphettville Race 9 No. 7):
This four-year-old Supreme Class mare is the early favourite in this BM 78 handicap over 1200m. She settled midfield and chased hard the entire straight for 0.4 length 4th over 1600m at Flemington on 7 November, then battled off a tough run for 6.3 lengths 8th over 1600m at Moonee Valley on 28 November before a 20 week spell. Her first-up record is a quite good but this race has some race-fit last-start winners and she offers no value.
