Track: Good Weather: Good

A wide open field where almost all of these are strong chances. Star Patrol heads the market. It brings in some class and quality but with plenty of speed engaged it does look rock bottom odds. Esta La Roca is an interesting runner and is 2/2 over this track and trip. the $17.00 is looming around a large price. On The Lead beat Inundation last start and that form should hold up here. Starry Legend was not far away in the same race. Dragonstone can stalk the speed and run well in this but is hard to catch from a punting perspective. Expecting the pace to be red hot in this.

1. Not An Option (4)

Not An Option flies fresh so the best time to catch it is first up. That being said, this race does have some depth to it. Classy enough to win but wide open field here.

2. Esta La Roca (1)

Ran 3rd in this race last year. The form of Esta La Roca reads wayward but the 2/2 over this track and trip record reads nicely here and it looks the best rough of the race at the $17.00 mark. Damian Lane is an eye catching booking, respect the market.

3. Yulong Command (2)

Should be up in the speed battle and looks nicely placed in a field of this calibre. Jamie Kah does the steering and may choose to sit off the early speed battle from barrier 2. Main contender.

4. Dragonstone (3)

Wills mettle off them and get one last crack. Barrier 3 means Blake Shinn can stalk the speed and if they go crazy up front it can pounce late. My big knock with Dragonstone is it has won once in its past 11 starts when below $10 in the market and most of those run started below $5. It is a good price here but has burnt punters plenty in the past.

5. Star Patrol (8)

Star Patrol is a good galloper with plenty of class and ability, my knock with it is the amount of speed in the race and the price on offer. From barrier 8 it may just be forced to sit wide and given the quality of this field it probably can’t get away with a run in transit like that. Can win but skinny odds at the moment.

6. On The Lead (7)

Beat Inundation last start and many didn’t expect it. That looks excellent form for this race and it only has to hold its form to be taking this out. Unflinching won on the weekend and franked the Inundation form even more.

7. Vainstream (9)

Can’t have.

8. Starry Legend (6)

Starry Legend looks a leading contender in this field. It has a superb second up record, flies around Sandown and was chasing On The Lead last start. That form should hold up here and it can give this race a shake.

9. Alpha One (5)

Has changed stables and drawn nicely in this field. Without a lot of speed on in this race it will be interesting to see where Alpha One settles. Only fair on resuming and will need to lift off that run but does bring a touch of class to this field and still has good upside. Can win but the market should be a good guide late.
