Blue Diamond Preview (C&G) – 2023

Track: Good Weather: Good

All eyes on The Instructor who was brilliant on debut and finds another winnable race here. Launching from barrier 3 it should get every chance and looks incredibly hardy to beat. Dangers come in the form of Krakarib who recently won in open company but will need some luck from the draw. Market watches are advised on Fire Follower and Corniche who both come from the Godolphin stable and look nice place chances while the recent trial of Goodes was solid enough to consider in this. Pace should be strong with The Instructor going forward.

1. Krakarib (9)

Danger to the top pick with the drop in class. Nice win last start in open company. The query is where it lands to from barrier 9 but with even luck in running can find the placings in this.

2. The Instructor (3)

Should just be a matter of how far for The Instructor. Put a gap on them on debut and wasn’t slowing down past the line. Can find the rails from barrier 1, Jordan Childs sticks and I think it should be winning this comfortably.

3. Corniche (7)

Brings in form around Croatian Belle which bodes nicely for this. Kah teams up with Godolphin and it looks a strong place chance in this field. Respect any late market moves.

4. Altruist (8)

Solid trials and the very in form Blake Shinn does the navigating from the wide draw. This race is within reach.

5. Amigo (6)

Another runner from the in form Moody camp. Trials have been rock solid and could find the placings in this race.

6. Campala (4)

Trials have been just fair. Moody is in exceptional form and Ben Melham takes the steer. Monitor the market.

7. Fire Follower (5)

Trialled the best out of those that haven’t raced. Zahra steers and Godolphin are having an excellent year. Keep an eye on market moves.

8. Goodes (1)

Won a recent trial in a decent time. Should be able to find a nice spot from the draw and Daniel Moor is a good booking. Can show up against these for a place.

9. Perilous Fighter (10)

Jumpout was just fair. Williams is an eye catching booking but the wide draw is a concern.

10. Regal Zeus (2)

Moved well ion a recent trial over the 700. Should go okay in this field. Place chance.

11. Scorsese (11)

Trialled okay but will need things to go right from the wide draw. Keep an eye on the market.
