Thousand Guineas Prelude – 2022

Track: Soft Weather: Fine

A wide open affair with the market being lead by She’s Licketysplit who gets the services of Damian Lane and can give this race a shake. Revolutionary Miss has a chance to bounce back to form while Russian Conquest creates interest back onto drier surface and into a winnable race. Boogie Dancer couldn’t keep the picket fence going first up but also goes in the mix against these.

1. She’s Licketysplit (8)

Comes across from NZ and has a stellar record thus far. Damian Lane steers from barrier 8 and the market has kept it very safe. Hard to beat against this lot.

2. Revolutionary Miss (14)

Hard to beat at this track and 3rd up. Both of those factors tick boxes and Jye Mcneil will just need to produce a good steer from barrier 14 to have Revolutionary Miss in the finish.

3. Seven Veils (9)

Has been racing better than its record looks this prep. Again not handed any favours from the draw but an in form Craig Williams takes the steer and Seven Veils has always shown good glimpses of talent. Can win this without surprising anyone.

4. Russian Conquest (7)

Looks a massive hope back onto dry ground. Did run right behind Coolangatta last prep on better surface and has been plagued with wet tracks recently. I’d be snapping up the $20.00.

5. Boogie Dancer (16)

Couldn’t continue the winning streak after finding the trip too short first up. Luke Nolen keeps the steer and back to Caulfield is a big tick for Boogie Dancer. Can bounce back in this.

6. Miss Hellfire (4)

Suited up in trip after hitting the line hard first up. Barrier 4 will ensure a nice run in transit for Miss Hellfire who certainly brings in the right formlines for this. Hard to beat.

7. Mumbai Jewel (13)

A bit unlucky last start after hitting some traffic issues. Being drawn out wide may be a blessing in disguise here as Zahra can go hunting for clean air. Good enough to win.

8. Madame Pommery (15)  – scratched

9. Hope At Hand (17)

Ran super last start and is already a 2nd up winner. Barrier 17 makes things very difficult however Hope At Hand brings in the right form and looks very hard to beat against this lot.

10. Proscenium Arch (3)

Racing well this prep. Daniel Moor is on for the first time and it gets a nice run in transit from the draw. Leaning to others over form but it still looks a top 4 player.

11. Sumatra (18)

Superb first up win and the Godolphin camp place their horses very well, especially when they switch states. Oliver will need to produce a peach from the draw but it can take this out with even luck.

12. Vagrant (10)

Prefer others.

13. Bonheur (5)

Returned very well showing off a nice turn of foot. Decent leap here from maiden grade but can measure up.

14. Denied (1)

Prefer others.

15. Celestial Spirit (2)

Needs to lift.

16. Foxy Gold (6)

Prefer in something easier.

17. Love Nest (11)

This looks too tough.

18. Callsign Charlie (12)

Prefer in something eaiser.
