How Now Stakes 2022 Race Details
Race 8 at Caulfield Racecourse on Saturday 17th September 2022.
The How Now Stakes is a Group 3 held at Caulfield Racecourse and is run over 1200 metres. It is for the mares aged four-years-old and older and is run under set weight and penalties conditions. The total prize money is $200,000.

How Now Stakes 2022 Preview
Track: Soft Weather: Fine
A cracking race that is wide open. Chain Of Lightning is leading the market and is looking to remain undefeated. She’s All Class was behind it and can turn the tables with a kinder draw. Zapateo finds a good chance to bounce back on a drier track while the very talented Argentia resumes and is good enough to take this out if on song. The tempo should be solid.
How Now Stakes 2022 Runner by Runner
1. Lavish Girl (3)
Lavish Girl is already a first up winner and has won on the track. From barrier 3 Ben Melham will be able to position it well and this is a suitable race.
2. Zapateo (7)
Zapateo should be improving back onto a drier track. 1200 suits it well and Damien Oliver has never missed the quinella aboard. Big chance.
3. Argentia (5)
Was hit and miss last prep but a very classy galloper when on song. The form behind Argentia is stacking up and it can resume a winner in this.
4. Chain Of Lightning (11)
Just continues to win and win well. Jamie Kah steers from barrier 11 and its hard to find a reason as to why Chain Of Lightning can’t keep adding to the picket fence.
5. Written Beauty (4)
Should enjoy a better draw and get a nicer run in transit. Overdue for a win this prep but Written Beauty is racing well enough to give this a shake.
6. Rainbiel (12)
Can’t have.
7. Isotope (10)
Isotope is hit and miss and has been mixing its form. That being said, it relishes this trip and has plenty of class when right. Becoming hard to trust but good enough to give this a shake.
8. She’s All Class (2)
Ran super last start and finished behind the very in form Chain Of Lightning and that looks the right form for this. From the good draw, She’s All Class is over the odds in a very open affair.
9. Exceldia (9)
Can’t have.
10. Felicia – scratched (1)
11. Another Award (6)
Ran super last prep and can give this a shake fresh. Holder comes across for the steer and he knows the horse very well. Major player.
12. Larkspur Run – scratched (8)
