Tesio Stakes – 2022

Track: Heavy Weather: Overcast

A mix of form brings together a strong field and its lead by Roots who gets the in form Craig Williams to steer. Hasn’t put a foot wrong this prep and gets its chance to notch up a stakes win. Agreeable is on the quick back up and looks nicely placed from the good draw with Jamie Kah aboard. Sirileo Miss should give a good sight and goes well over this trip while My Whisper is over the odds and has class, particularly suited here 3rd up and Tim Clark does the riding.

1. Sirileo Miss (4)

Won well last start without much luck. Had a mixed prep last time out but is starting to find form again and has a strong 3rd up record with 3 placings from 3 attempts. Melham should give it every chance from barrier 4.

2. Steinem (6)

Needs another win. Steinem has a booming turn of foot but always gets back in the field and relies on luck. This distance suits and Mcneil has had plenty of success on the horse but it has been a long time between drinks. Capable but needs a bit to go right.

3. Agreeable (2)

Agreeable is on the quick back up and looks nicely suited with Jamie Kah doing the steering. She has won twice aboard Agreeable from 6 attempts and if it can handle the quick back up this race is within reach.

4. Douceur (9)

Capable galloper but tends to get back in the run and thats a negative on this track. Coffey will need to be crafty from barrier 9 but it does have the turn of foot to win this race.

5. My Whisper (8)

Over the odds in early markets. It’ll need to be a good steer from Tim Clark but My Whisper’s best performance to date was 3rd up. This is the right time of the prep to catch it and if it can get a tow into the race it will take some holding out late.

6. Roots (3)

Maps beautifully for Craig Williams and gets its chance to notch up a stakes win. Hard to knock how Roots is going and the query is seeing Moonee Valley for the first time but it deserves to be well in the market and should be hard to hold out.

7. Miss Cartier (7)

Can’t have.

8. Saigon (10)

Needs another win but is racing well and this is within reach. Has won 3rd up in the past, respect any market moves.

9. Mrs Sippy (1)

Prefer others.

10. Savonia (5)

Great chance at odds on this track. Should lead them up and give a bold sight. While Savonia doesn’t have form as strong as the others it is the map horse and if left alone upfront will take some running down.

11. Sky Horse (11)

Going along well but barrier 11 is tricky, particularly on this tack. Monitor any market moves.

12. Starring Role (12)

Can’t have.
