Track: Heavy Weather: Fine

A wide open affair with most of these having met last run. Tuvalu is favourite and showed off a good turn of foot to win. Gentleman Roy was brave after setting a hot tempo. Visinari demands respect in this field and should get a camp just off the speed while My Oberon is a massive market watch and should go close in this.

1. Callsign Mav (1)

Had excuses last run. Callsign Mav gets the right draw here and can bounce back with Jamie Mott sticking in the saddle. May need some luck getting out at the right time but well placed in this field.

2. Tuvalu (3)

Hard to knock Tuvalu who is tough as nails and beat a lot of these home last run. Worse off at the weights against a few of these but should be getting the dream run in transit again from barrier 3 and Jarrod Fry would be at sky high confidence coming off the group 1 win.

3. Holbien (8)

Can’t have.

4. Buffalo River (2)

Hasn’t been in form and 0/14 on good tracks. Can’t have.

5. My Oberon (7)

Massive market watch. Brings in some superb formlines from the UK, it’ll just be a matter of watching the parade on betting towards whether it is ready and willing first up. Highly capable type worth following.

6. Gentleman Roy (6)

Brave last run and Mcneil admitted he went a little too hard too early. Less pace is in this race and he will have less work to do from the draw this time. The $6.00 is a good price in an even race.

7. Visinari (4)

Looks well poised here to stalk the pace from barrier 4 and brings in the right form to be in the mix. First look at the track but if it can find the back of the leaders it can certainly hit the line hard and take this out.

8. Bankers Choice (5)

No luck last run against a few of these. Seems over the odds but really needs another win and sees the track for the first time. Zahra sticks aboard, it looks capable of fighting out the finish. Top 4 chance.

9. Military Expert (9)

Racing extremely well and such a genuine type who should be up on the speed here. Kah will need to be good early from barrier 9 but Military Expert is a previous winner at the track which is an advantage against a lot of these. Keep safe.
