Favourite Soulcombe is an import making his local debut for the Waller yard and gets the in form Craig Williams in the saddle. With just 54kgs it will be hard to hold out and worth respecting any market moves for it. Persan comes from the Maher Eustace yard who are fresh off taking out The Melbourne Cup. Persan will get every chance from the draw and be hard to beat. Lunar Flare is also a strong chance while Great House and Luncies round out the rest. The tempo should be solid.

No Compromise simply had no favours last run so it is worth forgetting the effort. Off prior form it is right in this race and Prebble has options from the barrier. This race is within reach. Keep safe.

2. Persan (4)

Persan is going well and looks well placed in this field. It will get a nice run from the draw and Zahra jumps on for the first time. The stable and jockey combination won The Melbourne Cup yesterday and can notch up another large win here.

3. Sound (5)

Prefer others.

4. Great House (2)

Great House can mix form but the booking of J-Mac is a positive sign. It gets a nice draw, maps kindly and looks primed to run a big race. Keep safe.

5. Lunar Flare (12)

Couldn’t make the Melbourne Cup due to regulations. Lunar Flare looked a strong chance there and an even bigger chance here. Childs has some work to do early from the draw but he knows the horse it well, it flies on this track and should be hard to beat. On top selection.

6. Kukeracha (11)

Prefer others.

7. San Huberto (9)

Can’t have.

8. Warning (13)

Can show a booming turn of foot when on song. Warning has been threatening to win all prep and gets its chance here. It is worth noting Nash is 2/2 aboard Warning. Best roughie in the race.

9. Luncies (8)

Luncies can win this. Forget last run it simply had no luck at all. Tim Clark is in the saddle for the first time and Luncies will appreciate the soft ground. It hasn’t missed the placings from 2 attempts over this trip and will be hard to hold out in this affair.

10. Carif (3)

Prefer others.

11. Soulcombe (7)

The import who creates good interest here and knows how to win. Williams will need a little luck from the draw but Waller always needs to be respected in this race and there isn’t a whole lot of exposed form in this field.

12. King Of The Castle (6)

Racing okay and this is within reach. Dee should get a nice run from the draw and give a strong sight in this field. Keep safe.

13. Captain Envious (10)

Continues to win and deserves a crack here after a tough effort last run. Getting cover early from the draw is a slight query however it is going far too well to be ignoring.
