2022 Placid Ark Stakes Race Details

Race 8 at Ascot on Saturday 12th November 2022.

The Placid Ark Stakes is a Listed race over 1200 metres at Ascot. It is a set weights race for 3YOs run by the Western Australian Turf Club in November. It is one of five feature races on the day and this year the prizemoney has been boosted to $500,000.

Placid Ark Stakes 2022 Preview

There are 13 three-year-olds lining up for the $500,000 Placid Ark Stakes with four geldings, one colt and eight fillies. Four runners had their last start in the Placid Ark Prelude over 1000m at Ascot on 29 October and two runners had their last start in a 3YO Graduation Handicap over 1200m at Ascot on 5 November. The others all came via different races. Trainer Dion Luciani has three runners and Luke Fernie has two runners.

The early favourite is Baby Paris who won the Placid Ark Prelude and has 4 wins and a 2nd from 5 starts. Second favourite is My Bella Mae who has won well at both her starts. Third favourite is All Show who ran 2nd in the Placid Ark preview.

Rumour Says ran 1.6 lengths 5th in the Listed Belgravia Stakes last outing. Wild Belle has 2 wins from 3 starts. Prawns Eleven won 3 races in a row before 2md at Ascot last outing, while Revitup has won 5 of her 9 starts. The other runners are currently 20 to 1 or longer.

Won well over 1100m at Ascot last start on 29 October and has good form at the track. In the mix.

2. Kosta’s Crown (4)

He has well-backed last outing when he finished a close 3rd over 1400m at Ascot on 5 November. On a seven day back-up and back in distance. Place chance.

3. Just Go (12)

One of three runners for trainer Dion Luciani. Ran 3rd in the Placid Ark Prelude. Rough claims.

4. Prawns Eleven (2)

Won 3 races in a row before 2nd at Ascot last outing Gets blinkers for the first time and should go well.

5. Sunny Honey (8)

Finished strongly for 1.8 lengths 4th over 1200m at Ascot when resuming. Not the worst.

6. Revitup (7)

She has won 5 of her 9 starts, including both of her first-up starts. Resumes after a 13 week break and gets William Pike. One of the main chances.

7. Baby Paris (13)

This Playing God filly won the Placid Ark Prelude and has 4 wins and a 2nd from 5 starts. Should be in the finish.

8. Rumour Says (9)

One of two runners for trainer Luke Fernie. Ran 1.6 lengths 5th in the Listed Belgravia Stakes last outing. Rough chance.

9. All Show (5)

Has a win and 2 places from 4 starts. Ran 2nd in the Placid Ark preview. Could place.

10. My Bella Mae (6)

Has won well at both her starts – by 2.3 lengths on debut then by 1.7 lengths last Saturday. I’ve been impressed by her and she’s my top pick.

11. Wild Belle (10)

Has 2 wins from 3 starts. Will make her presence felt.

12. Invincible Ruby (3)

Finished 2.7 lengths 4th in the Placid Ark Prelude. Prefer others.

13. Fashion Stakes (1)

The only maiden runner in the race but she has been runner-up at her last two starts. Looking to others.
