Track: Good Weather: Fine

A wide open affair that sees Uncle Bryn and Visinari share favouritism. The former had excuses last run and can bounce back in this while the latter is putting together a great record and will be hard to hold out again. Belle Plaisir comes out of a strong form race and is hovering around large odds while Just Folk has options from the draw and should make its prescence felt. Ironclad should improve on top of the ground and Lightsaber at $35 will run a huge race if it can find the front and dictate terms. The tempo should be solid.

1. Callsign Mav (10)

Callsign Mav has been mixing its form but best efforts see it go close here. Mott will need some luck from the barrier but on best form it can take this out. Keep safe.

2. Just Folk (1)

Enormous effort last week and Just Folk gets a bit of weight relief here. Coffey has options from the draw and it can fight out the finish.

3. Buckhurst (5)

Stable aren’t firing in Victoria, can’t have.

4. Buffalo River (4)

Can’t have.

5. Our Playboy (2)

Our Playboy is due for another win but did go well in this race last year and likes the distance. Some query on top of the ground as most of its best runs have come from when there is cut in the ground. Monitor any market moves on race day.

6. Uncle Bryn (8)

Uncle Bryn had excuses last start but held on well enough.The win prior was very good and he gets his desired dry ground here. The barrier is a slight concern but if he can get into the running line he will be hard to hold out in an even field.

7. Ironclad (13)

Ironclad was a pass mark on return. It has a much stronger record on dry tracks and should be suited getting back on top of the ground. It is racing well and this race is within reach.

8. Crosshaven (15)

Can’t have.

9. Visinari (7)

Visinari has become a very good galloper in Australian shores and is putting together a nice CV. The form around Tuvalu reads well and it’ll land somewhere close to the speed. Hard to beat.

10. No Effort (3)

Any rain helps the chances of No Effort. You know what to expect from this experienced galloper. It’ll land on the speed and give a good sight. Chances enhanced from the draw. Top 4 chance.

11. Belle Plaisir (6)

Belle Plaisir looks well placed in this field. It comes out of a strong race running well behind Icebath. Its prior start it wasn’t far off Promise Of Success and that kind of form should hold up here. Williams has options from the draw and it looks well placed to fight out the finish.

12. So Si Bon (11)

An enigma who always races well but is so hard to catch for punters. Finished 3rd in this race last year. A must for multiples but very hard to back with trust and will need some luck from the gate.

13. Lightsaber (12)

Disappointed they didn’t lead on Lightsaber last start as that seem to be its go. It was better than past runs but still needs to lift. If they are aggressive out of the gates early it can go close in this as it really likes to dictate.

14. Flash Aah (14)

Racing okay and was only 2 and a half lengths off Uncle Bryn last start so this race is certainly within reach. Newitt will need to produce a good ride from the draw but with 54kgs it can give a strong sight in this field.

15. No Surrender (9)

Prefer others.
