The Farnley Stakes is a 1400 metre quality handicap race run by the Western Australian Turf Club at Belmont. It is held during September and is the feature event of the program.

Farnley Stakes 2021 Preview
Track: Good Weather: Fine
There are only seven runners for the $122,500 Farnley Stakes where three runners had their last start in the Idyllic Prince Stakes on 28 August and two had their last start in the Belmont Newmarket on 14 August. The early favourite is three-year-old Notorious One who has seven wins and a place from his 13 starts and has won three of his last four races. Second favourite is Tellem We’re Comin who came 2nd in the Idyllic Prince Stakes after 2nd in the Belmont Newmarket. Third favourite is Western Temple who finished 7th in the Belmont Newmarket but gets William Pike this time.
Trap For Fools resumes after 20 weeks and ran 2nd in the Diggers Cup at the end of last campaign. Media Baron resumed for 4th in the Idyllic Prince and Neufbosc finished 6th. Paddy’s Shadow is the only mare in the race and she only beat one runner home in the Belmont Newmarket when resuming, but is better than that.
