Perth races are held at Belmont Park Racecourse during the winter months. While the main racing is conducted at Perth racings main track at Ascot Racecourse, the Belmont racetrack is Australia’s leading wet-weather track and this gives punters a great advantage when betting on Perth racing during the winter racing period.

The majority of punters get burned betting on favourites in the winter with the wet tracks resulting in many outsiders upsetting the form guide. Perth’s Belmont Park racecourse gives punters a chance to strike back because of its excellent drainage system. You don’t have to automatically put a line through the favourite on a “wet track” at Belmont Park as you do on an eastern state track.

Belmont Park races don’t have any Group 1 events but there are a few class races during the winter with the Belmont Sprint the best of them.
