2021 Theo Marks Stakes Race Details
Race 7 at Rosehill At Kembla Grange on Saturday 11 September 2021.
The Theo Marks Stakes is a 1300 metre handicap race run by the Australian Turf Club normally at Rosehill. The winner is exempt from the ballot for the Epsom Handicap. It is held during September and there are also two other Group 2 races and a Listed race on the programme. In 2021 the meeting has been transferred to Kembla Grange due to the ongoing Covid crisis as the local government area where Rosehill is located has had the strict stay-at-home orders extended.

Theo Marks Stakes 2021 Preview
Track: Good Weather: Fine
Following the early scratching of Imaging, 11 runners remain for the $200,000 Theo Marks Stakes and four of them had their last start in the Group 3 Show County Quality on 21 August. There are three mares, seven geldings and a colt and Gai Waterhose & Adrian Bott have two runners. The early favourite is Big Parade who resumed from a 28 week spell with a 3.3 length win over 1200m at Kembla Grange. Second favourite is Private Eye who resumed for a good win in the Show County Quality. Third favourite is Embracer who finished 2nd behind him.
Icebath ran 3rd in the Show County Quality. Madam Rouge resumes from an 11 week let-up after running 4th in the Group 1 Tatt’s Tiara. Roheryn resumes from a 20 week spell and has won five from five first-up. Hilal resumed for 5th in the Listed McKenzie Stakes at Moonee Valley, while Nimalee resumes from an 18 week spell after running 4th in The Coast. All other runners are currently 25 to 1 or longer.

This five-year-old Sacred Falls mare trained by Brad Widdup at Hawkesbury has three wins and 10 places from 21 starts. At the end of last campaign she was 0.2 length 2nd in the Group 1 Doncaster Mile. She ran 3rd in the Show County Quality when resuming and could figure here.
3. Roheryn
Trained by James Cummings, this six-year-old Lonhro mare has won five from five first-up. She resumes from a 20 week spell and this is her toughest test.
4. Madam Rouge
Drawn nicely in barrier 1, this six-year-old Zoustar mare trained by Chris Waller resumes from an 11 week let-up after running 4th in the Group 1 Tattersall’s Tiara. Has some claims.
5. Nimalee
resumes from an 18 week spell after running 4th in The Coast.
6. Private Eye
resumed for a good win in the Show County Quality.
