Creswick Stakes 2023 Race Details
Race 5 at Flemington Racecourse on Saturday the 1st July 2023.
The A.R. Creswick Stakes is a Listed race held at Flemington racecourse over 1200 metres. It is for three-year-olds and is run under set weights plus penalties conditions. The total prizemoney is $175,000 this year.

Track: Good-Soft Weather: Fine
Twelve three year olds have accepted for the $175,000 Listed A.R. Creswick Stakes. Godolphin have a strong hand here with the favourite Renosu and $5.50 chance Legio Ten. Cause For Concern has won his last two starts and has been the best backed in early betting while Extratwo is unbeaten since joining Maher and Eustace.
Creswick Stakes 2023 Runner by Runner
1. Tijuana
Resumes. Team Hayes are flying at the moment and beaten less than a length in the Caulfield Guineas reads well. My concern is whether he might find these a bit sharp first up over 1200m.
2. He’s Heaven
Has been gelded. Going back a little way now but his fourth behind Jacquinot and Aft Cabin last spring indicates some talent and his two synthetic jump outs have been pretty sharp.
3. Renosu
Consistent gelding who has just missed in his two straight runs this prep. Shinn sticks. Expect him to be in the finish again here.
4. Cause For Concern
Has won his last two including a win over 1100m here at his last start. Chance.
5. Legio Ten
Second of the godolphin runners. Unbeaten in two starts since resuming a gelding in May. Kept fresh for this. Key winning chance.
6. Who Dares
Is consistent but never wins. Place chance.
7. Big Watch
Kept coming here last start behind Cause For Concern. Not sure that he was in the best ground either. Each way hope.
8. Ten Commandments
Has won his last five starts in the bush and deserves his chance here. The more rain the better for him.
9. Setteveli
Gets the blinkers on and will be better for the straight track experience last start but he needs to improve sharply to be a factor here.
10. Any Zouwilldo
Form doesn’t appear strong enough. Prefer others.
11. Cotel
Ran well here last start and looks to have been set for this. First four chance.
12. Extratwo
Has been ultra impressive winning both starts since joining the Maher & Eustace camp. Don’t love that she comes back in trip with the rise in weight but she’s a talent and certainly has claims in this.
