The unbeaten colt Steparty stifles early betting markets in the Taj Rossi Series Final. He has come up a deep odds on favourite after bolting in here in fast time at his last start. Last start Mornington winner Acierto is on the next line of betting at $8. African Pioneer is the only runner to shorten.

2. Line ‘Em Up Loui
Won the Elvstroem Classic at Swan Hill last start. In the mix.
3. Sunsource
Has got back and worked home solidly behind Steparty at both runs this campaign. Gets a big jockey change here with Blake Shinn taking over the steering. Can run well.
4. Acierto
Rounded them up to win a three horse race at Mornington last start. In the mix.
5. Pendante
Was fourth in the Elvstroem, then raced away to win a maiden on it’s home track at Bendigo last start. Place chance.
6. Dolphin Skin
Had the bias against here last start and therefor I think the run had more merit than the 7.5 length margin suggests. Should be able to settle closer from the draw. Solid place chance at odds.
7. African Pioneer
Duel acceptor at Geelong on Friday. He was taking ground off Blazing Harry at Geelong on debut. Is going to need to be a serious training effort coming off 27 days and rising from 1200m to 1600m but he’s the one that could potentially pose the biggest threat to the favourite if they decide to run here.
8. The Hindustan
Inclined to forgive the debut when held up at a key stage. Is now five times the price.
