Our Rosehill Horse Racing Tips for the weekend.

The feature race is the Group 2 Expressway Stakes (race 7). The Group 3 Widden Stakes for 2YO fillies is race 2 and the Group 3 Canonbury Stakes for 2YO colts & geldings is race 3.

Savatiano (Rosehill Race 7 No. 5)
This six-year-old Street Cry mare trained by James Cummings has 11 wins and 12 places from 36 starts and has won five of her her eight first-up starts, including the Group 2 PB Lawrence Stakes at Flemington last campaign. She battled steadily for 3.95 lengths 10th in the Group 2 Rose of Kingston Stakes over 1400m at Flemington on 3 October, then took over at the 300m and raced clear for a 0.5 length win in the Group 2 Hot Danish over 1400m at Rosehill on 7 November.  Resuming from a 12 week let-up, she is a multiple Group 2 winner with a great first-up record and goes well at Rosehill.

Harpo Marx (Rosehill Race 4 No. 3):
This five-year-old Galileo gelding from the Bjorn Baker stable has four wins and four places from 16 starts and is a lovely staying type. He chased hard for 0.4,0.2 lengths 3rd over 2400m on a heavy track at Kensington on 2 January where he had the best 800m-200m race sectional, then ran on strongly from well back in the field for a 0.2 length win over 2000m at Rosehill with the best overall race sectionals. This campaign he has won three from six starts and looks a good each-way bet.

Canasta (Rosehill Race 6 No. 5):
This five-year-old Makfi gelding is the early favourite in this three-year-old and up BM 78 handicap over 1400m. He was the leader straightening then was headed at the 250m and winded badly to finish 7.7 lengths 13th over 1800m on a heavy track at Rosehill on 13 June before spelling. After 31 weeks he resumed for 2.5 lengths 2nd over 1500m at Rosehill on 16 January. He doesn’t offer value in a very open race.
