Our Ascot Horse Racing Tips for the weekend.

Race 8 is the Group 2 Perth Cup over 2400m, race 6 is the Group 3 La Trice Classic for fillies and mares over 1800m and race 7 is the Listed Summer Scorcher over 1000m..

Indian Pacific (Ascot Race 7 No. 6)
This Zoustar gelding has six wins and three places from ten starts, with four wins over this distance. He was swamped late on the heavy track for 0.17, 0.49 lengths 3rd in the Group 3 Colonel Reeves Stakes over 1100m at Ascot on 14 November, then was no match over the final 1200m when 5.42 lengths 9th in the Group 1 Winterbottom Stakes over 1200m at Ascot on 28 November. He is back to his favourite distance and looks the likely winner.

Each Way

Naughty By Nature (Ascot Race 6 No. 6):
This four-year-old mare trained by Jason Miller has three wins and six places from 15 starts. She got close but was never really clear when she finished 1.15 lengths 5th in the Listed Jungle Dawn Classic over 1400m at Ascot on 5 December, then she wound up gamely for 1.01, 0.05 lengths 3rd in the Listed Starstruck Classic over 1600m at Ascot on 19 December. She has placed at this distance before and looks worth an each-way bet.

Best Lay

Platinum Bullet (Ascot Race 5 No. 6):
This four-year-old Shooting To Win mare is the early favourite in this benchmark 72+ handicap over 1200m. She resumed after 20 weeks with 1.24 lengths 2nd over 1200m at Ascot on 28 November, then got the bob on the line for a narrow win over 1100m at Ascot on 12 December. This is a slightly harder race with several chances and she offers no value.
