Surround Stakes 2024 Race Details
Race 8 at Randwick Racecourse on Saturday the 2nd of March 2024.
The Surround Stakes is a Group 1 race held at Randwick Racecourse and is run over 1400 metres. It is for fillies aged three-years-old and is run under set weight conditions. The total prize money is $750,000 this year.

Surround Stakes 2024 Preview
Track: Good Weather: Fine
Nearly impossible race. Learning To Fly was brilliant resuming and can go one better from the draw. She was nudged out by Kimochi who chalked up a well deserved win. Tiz Invincible was behind them but will enjoy the rise in trip and has too much class to dismiss. Makarena has the different form line and has plenty of ability while Tropical Squall can lead them up and the stable always have them ready.
Surround Stakes 2024 Runner by Runner
1. Tropical Squall (2)
Can land up on the speed from barrier 2 and looks well placed in this company. Not hopeless fresh and chances increased if there is any on pace bias on the day.
2. Zardozi (10)
Will enjoy further but has plenty of class and is a chance of sweeping on these late. Far from hopeless.
3. Kimochi (7)
Got the deserved win last start and no reason why it can’t do it again.
4. Learning To Fly (6)
Brilliant from the wide gate fresh and looks very hard to beat here being drawn kinder. Strips fitter and deserving favourite.
5. Tiz Invincible (5)
Sound return and has beaten many of these in the past. Respect the market and what it says late. Should get its chance from barrier 5.
6. Kristilli (8)
Can’t have.
7. Tutta La Vita (3)
Prefer others.
8. Makarena (13)
Can land up on the speed from the wide draw and this race suits. Tim Clark does the steering and the stable warrant respect.
9. Autumn Ballet (4)
Can’t have.
10. Roll On High (11)
Has good upside and has beaten some of these. Not hopeless resuming but tough draw is the knock.
11. Arctic Glamour (9)
Has class and looks well placed in this field fresh. Good finale late last run.
12. Stefi Magnetica (1)
Gets the favours from barrier 1 and form stacks up around it. Should give this race a shake.
13. Kind Words (12)
Can’t have.
